From the clothing style and the bamboo ski poles, I'm guessing that this was taken during Tony's first foray to Aspen in the winter of 1948-'49. A Facebook fan thinks this might be Toni Sailer.

"Downhill racing" is the simple caption written on the back of this original print. A classic downhill racer, old-school, sometime in the 1960s, probably on Aspen Mountain, Aspen, Colorado. Printed far prior to the advent of Photoshop, the streaking effect would have been created by moving the paper during exposure under the enlarger in the darkroom.
